★ Canada Day and Spirit Cup, 2026/カナダデー・スピリットカップ ★
Spirit Cup for junior and senior high school students took place on July 2nd and 3rd, followed by Canada Day for kindergarten and elementary students on July 3rd.
Although rain had been forecast for July 3rd, the weather cleared up in the morning. It provided a great condition and students were able to fully enjoy the celebrations outdoors.
During Canada Day, kindergarten and elementary students enjoyed a variety of activities, including fireball/dodgeball, musical hoops/cornhole, face painting and water fight. The children could cool down and enjoy "Freezies" (ice popsicles) in the rest area. Moving from activity to activity with their classmates, the children spent a fun-filled day full of smiles and excitement.
Spirit Cup for Grades 7-12 took place over two days. On July 2nd, students competed in team sports, demonstrating teamwork and school spirit. On July 3rd, students gathered for club performances and the Spirit Cup awards ceremony, celebrating each another's achievements with enthusiastic applause.
As part of the celebrations, the PTSA served poutine, a traditional Canadian dish, to all students during lunchtime. The PTSA also supported the events by providing bandanas, scoreboards, sponges, and pools for Spirit Cup, as well as bottled water, salty "Ramune" candy, and "Freezies" (ice popsicles) for Canada Day.
We hope all students enjoyed these memorable events before the summer vacation. The PTSA will continue supporting school events and helping create a safe and enjoyable school environment for all students.
On Saturday, June 13, after the board meeting, our board members prepared to replace last year's emergency food supplies with the newly purchased supplies for this year.
Fortunately, the emergency food stored over the past year was never needed for an actual emergency. Before it reached its expiration date, it was distributed to all students during the final week of Spring term.
In the event of an emergency, drinking water will be provided along with the emergency food. We hope you will take this opportunity to try the emergency food together with water at home, helping your family become familiar with what might be provided in an emergency and encouraging conversations about emergency preparedness.

On Wednesday, February 11th, the PTSA-hosted social gathering, the “CIS Family Festa,” was held at Tokorozawa Sakura Town, welcoming more than 200 participants. This large-scale event, to which faculty and staff members were invited, marked the first such gathering since 2018.
While enjoying light refreshments, guests were treated to a talent show performed by volunteer students and faculty members. The venue remained filled with a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout, making it a truly joyful time.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the PTSA board members, who worked tirelessly in preparation up until the day of the event, as well as the assistance from our spot volunteers who helped with on-site operations, we were able to conclude the event safely and successfully. We were especially delighted to hear many kind comments from participants who shared their wonderful time they spent during the event.
On Friday, February 6, the Science Fair was held, along with a PTSA-sponsored special event.
2月6日(金)、学校開催のサイエンス・フェアにあわせて、PTSA主催イベントが行われました。
In the Elementary School, science classes were conducted using the Tinkering Lab materials that were introduced last year with support from the PTSA. This year, we also provided additional support by purchasing safety goggles for both students and teachers to ensure safe use of the materials.
The highlight of this year’s PTSA event was a spectacular science show featuring Charlie Nishimura of Yonemura Denjiro production, joined by opera singers and instrumental musicians. The live musical performances added an extra layer of excitement to the show.
From kindergarten through high school, students gathered in the Big Gym to experience a variety of dynamic experiments. These included a powerful demonstration using a giant air cannon, experiments exploring how sound changes by air density using an opera singer’s voice and musical instruments, an experiment of structural mechanics featuring teachers, and a physiology demonstration that students were able to observe up close. The venue was filled with energy and enthusiasm throughout the program.
As for the results of the experiments, we hope you enjoyed hearing all about them at home from your children.

One of the great joys of serving as a PTSA board member is having the opportunity to plan, coordinate, and bring events like this to our school community. If you are interested in serving as a PTSA board member, we would be delighted to welcome you.
On December 14, despite the rainy weather, Christmas Fiesta 2025 was held successfully and welcomed many visitors, coming to a close with great enthusiasm.
At the PTSA booth, we raised \36,000 from the uniform bazaar and \24,700 from the charity sales corner featuring games, books, and other items.
The total proceeds will be donated to the school’s Christmas profit fund on behalf of the PTSA.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the food drive. All donated items were delivered to the following organizations:
As part of our support for the event, the PTSA took care of several preparations. It included purchasing and preparing treats essential for Halloween, buying large pumpkins for carving, and arranging prizes for the various Costume Awards and the Pumpkin Grand Prize. We also created decorations and displays to help make the event more festive and enjoyable for everyone.
During the Trick or Treat activity for kindergarten and elementary students, PTSA members dressed up as "WANTED" characters alongside the teachers.
The children had a wonderful time exploring the school and collecting treats along the way.

At the all-school Costume Parade, PTSA members worked together with spot volunteers, cheering on the students from various points along the parade route.
For the Costume Contest, we served as judges to select the grand prize winners and as presenters on stage to celebrate the award recipients-supporting the event behind the scenes together with teachers and students.
The Pumpkin Award winners this year were G1, G3B, G5, G8B, and G12! Congratulations to all the students!
